John Coakley is founding director of the Institute for British-Irish Studies, School of Politics and International Relations, University College Dublin, and former secretary-general of the International Political Science Association. He is coeditor of Crossing the Border: New Relationships Between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland (2007).
