Jeffrey Cason

Jeffrey Cason is assistant professor of political science at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. He is coauthor (with Christopher Barrett) of Overseas Research: A Practical Guide (1997) and coeditor (with Michael Carter and Frederic Zimmerman) of Development at a Crossroads: Paths to Sustainability After the Neoliberal Revolution (1998). He completed research in Uruguay from August to December 1999 under the auspices of a Fulbright grant.

In the November 1999 presidential election, Uruguayans reaffirmed their strong commitment to democracy, while adjusting to a set of constitutional reforms that profoundly altered the electoral system.
